The Outstanding Teacher Programme is delivered over seven sessions in May, June and July. This consists of five days focused on teaching and learning with two days focused on the power of coaching.
The programme equips delegates with a range of outstanding teaching and learning techniques as well as encouraging them to reflect on their own practice whilst engaging with colleagues to develop both the theory and practical examples of outstanding practice. The coaching skills will enable participants to contribute effectively to the practice of others. Delegates will also be required to complete post sessional challenges in school during the course of the programme. Accredited by the National College for Teaching and Leadership, this is a nationally recognised and versatile programme. The programme (developed by OLEVI) will be facilitated by our outstanding practitioners from The Sutton Park Teaching School Alliance who have themselves completed the Outstanding Facilitator Programme as well as being fully qualified coaches. The programme is structured around proven collaborative working so works best if schools are able to send more than one delegate. In some instances schools that are geographically close or those already working in clusters may choose to send staff from across the cluster.
Each participant or school group will require a mentor who should attend a mentor meeting on Wednesday 26th April at 3.00pm at The Joseph Leckie Academy, Walstead Road West, Walsall WS5 4PG.
